I was building a small server...then I found the Raidmax Platinum case.

It is a hulking huge case and I can't find any shortcuts taken in design...If you are planning a build, take a look at this case.

11 Bays - all Mesh!

No tabs to flatten.

Excellent cable management.

No sharp edges anywhere.

2 - 3 bay HD enclosures (Toolless ) with 120 MM fans and removable filters included.

Room for another 3 bay HD enclosure.

Single Power button.

Covered front USB, Firewire, E-Sata and Reset button.

Rear 120 MM Fan.

Top meshed panel - ready for water cooling radiator or additional 120 MM Fans.

Handles ITX, mATX, ATX Motherboards.

Heavy Metal...nothing flimsy.

-$99- I got mine at Fry's Electronics. I was about to get an Antec 900 for the same money.

See for yourself - http://www.raidmax.com/chassis/platinum.html

There is a gallery for this at Imgur - http://unqualifiedspectator.imgur.com

I have room for 9 drives natively - 15 drives+ with 5in3 units and a 2 bay fan control/system monitor!

I put a Zotac GeForce 6100-ITX in it - it looks like a postage stamp in a black cavern but it will get me going  ;D

Heh.. I thought I was the only person to put an mITX board into a giant case.

Looks good.

Does the top bay come to make it a 12 bay case?

(The power panel I guess that is?)

Dunno - haven't tried to remove it. If you did, I think it would be a struggle - you would have to relocate the power button (not too hard) and the reset button, if you were going to miss it and do a bunch of dremel work... it would have been GREAT if Raidmax made that door in the top a "slide out" tray for that purpose. I was kind of looking at the (dead) space behind it on the top of the case. I was thinking of dremeling a spot for a 3.5/2.5 drive replication bay - so if I take it apart again, I'll try to shoot some pix of that area.

If it worked, you would have 12 bays in all - room for 20 drives with four 5in3s - though, for the same money I would be hard pressed not to purchase a Norco and live on the 24 drive edge.  In fact, the Norco costs LESS than the four 5in3s!

It really sucks that, when you are getting started, it costs nearly the same to size the tower big enough to do you some good vs the cost of building an enormous server. I was going to be timid and build a small machine...but the costs are the same for small vs. 10-15 drives, except the drives themselves.
