Remove Norco 4220 plastic sheath?

Featured Replies

Silly question but are you supposed to remove the plastic sheath on the outside case? It is a little difficult to remove and I don't want to mess up the case.

I think you are supposed to, but I left mine on.

Thanks for the quick reply, prostuff1.

One more question, if I may.

All my parts are in except for the Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 8-Port SAS/SATA Add-on Card and 1m 30AWG Internal Mini SAS 36pin (SFF-8087) Male to Mini SAS 36pin (SFF-8087) Male Cable. For now, I am only going to add 3 drives and start preclearing them. Can I build my server and then just the card and the cables in later (I am going to use 120mm fan plate if that matters) or it would be better to get at least the cables in before proceeding?

My 4224 came with plastic across the bottom, which solves the problem of air begin sucked in, so I left it on.  Cover any extra holes is a good thing.

Same as C3.

I left it. it stop the air from coming in all the holes.

if you de remove it. i would sugest plugging all the screw holes to promote better drive cooling.

i would also plug the space in the fanwall after you run your cables.
