July 12, 20241 yr I need only starter for my small NAS. Is there any possibility to get a lifetime licence? 250$ for the Unleased Lifetime is a bit much... regards

I'm unlikely to change server OS's once I pick one (assuming nothing drastic happens), so the lifetime cost makes sense to my wallet and peace of mind. I've been using unraid since version 4. It's the best money I've spent on software. Edited July 13, 20241 yr by whipdancer words
July 12, 20241 yr You have the trial period you can use for 30 days, then you can do the starter subscription for $49. That will give you at least 1 year, probably longer, until you need to pay more for updates. If, at the end of all that, you decide you want lifetime updates, you can change to a lifetime for $209. Total outlay, $258, and only after living with Unraid for much more than a year before you have to make a choice. So, the "penalty" for not going to lifetime immediately is only $9 net. Try it out for free, and if it looks good and you want to continue, get the starter license. If at the end of all that, you want to change to lifetime, you aren't spending significantly more than if you fork it all out immediately.

If it's software that I use all the time, I'd much rather pay for it outright and avoid any subscription model. I changed a word that hopefully makes it more clear to you. July 13, 20241 yr There's no Starter perpetual license. The perpetual automatically offers unlimited drives. BUT, it's a good idea, IMO. Here's what's current: Quote Starter $49 - Supports up to 6 attached storage devices. Unleashed $109 - Supports an unlimited number of devices. Annual Extension Fee for Starter and Unleashed: $36 Lifetime $249 - Unlimited devices. No extension fee. Layout and emphasis on above mine. You have 2 subscription options (which are phenomenal) and one Lifetime/Perpetual option. IMO, the above is good enough, but I can see room to attract some buyers with a 4-prong offering. How about this? Quote Subscription Pricing Starter $49 - Supports up to 6 attached storage devices. Unleashed $109 - Supports an unlimited number of devices. Annual Extension Fee for Starter and Unleashed: $36 One-time Pricing - No extension fees - ever! Lifetime Starter $149 - 6 devices Lifetime Unleashed $249 - Unlimited devices Just an idea. I'd also suggest renaming "Starter" to something more catchy, like maybe "Sixer" - anyway, time for some sun and beverages, server work go nappy. Edited July 13, 20241 yr by Espressomatic
