carkis28
Good afternoon, So, about a couple weeks ago I had a super bad power outage randomly that just fried my dell server. The IDRAC just went to poop and I had a supermicro server that my old job gave me lying around so i swapped everything over. When i plugged in everything slapped the old hard drives in (Yeah, they still work somehow and i ran tests on them) they are not being recognized by my new server. I installed the key and all but I really want my old servers/files back. Is there a way I can rebuild the drives or let them work with the new server? Thanks guys. Quote Link to comment

Dick Dawson
I just went through this and my app data and all was still in tach so when I switched computers and plugged in my usb boom it worked. shares were there and all BUT... I used the exact same make and model computer so... I do know on my system, HP z820 I had to flash the bios into IT mode so unraid had control of the drives and all. before I did that it was a total mess of failure. Maybe thats a thing needed? It might be an issue of storage controller not being the same? Quote Link to comment
trurl
If you had RAID controller in either the old or new system, then Unraid will not recognize the disks.
