pool disks

Featured Replies

hello all !

i'm having some trouble with unbalanced and cache pools, basically i can't identify the root device in a cache pool with multiple devices (i'm not sure what links them together in disks.ini)

i want to identify the root device, to show only that disk in the ui and avoid users targeting sub-disks for move/copy i/o

now, is it ok to target a sub-disk in a move or copy operation ? maybe unraid's fs directs the i/o to the correct "disk/device" ?

if that's the case, i would show all the cache disks in the ui

any suggestions ? 😀

Maybe I am missing something, but why do you need to know the individual drives?    Cannot you simply use the pool name (which is mounted at /mnt/poolname).    Details of possible pools seem to be under config/pools on the flash drive although I notice that there can be files there for pools that no longer exist.

oooo that sounds like a great idea!

that means sub-disks don't show up under /mnt right ?

i think i can work with that !!!

thanks a lot itimpi !

Unlike the array disks each pool is one filesystem, you can't access individual disks at all.
