August 10, 20241 yr I am running unraid 6.12.10 and have been using my motherboard built in nics with no problem. I finally decided to upgrade a couple of workstations to 10GB and wanted to do the same for my unraid server. I can see that NIC is seated properly and is getting power green light but it is not showing up in my system devices on unraid. I have rebooted a couple of times but no joy. My mother board has four PCI-E slots. The first slot is being used by an LSI card. I tried both the PCI-E 3.0/2.0 x8 and PCI-E 2.0 x 4 slots but no success. Here is the nic I bought off newegg: https://www.newegg.com/10gtek-x520-da1/p/14U-00AM-00002?Item=9SIA9Z94VP3327 Old motherboard (Supermicro X95CL/X95CM) : https://www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/C202_C204/MNL-1270.pdf Should I buy a different card? Which one?
August 11, 20241 yr Author Solution I had tried to get into my bios but could not. I looked on line and found that there is a bug with my motherboard. After resetting the CMOS I could get into the BIOS. I flipped on a couple of enable features for PCIe and after several reboots the card showed up. I changed the card to ethos 0, rebooted a couple of times and everything seems to be working. Keeping fingers crossed.
