September 2, 20241 yr I recently powered down my server, using 'Shutdown', but when I turned it back on again, I got a couple of notifications that the array had errors. Hi JorgeB, do you have any idea why this might have suddenly happened out of nowhere? I haven’t made any hardware changes or anything like that.
September 3, 20241 yr Community Expert Not really, but if it started out of the blue without any hardware or software changes it could be a board issue.
September 17, 20241 yr Author Solution I found out what was causing it. It was a PCI-E X1 to SATA 3.0 Controller Card which I installed just under a year ago. This one in particular - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B4SD16SM I have since educated myself somewhat and have now installed this HBA Card, which, from what I've read, is a far better device for the job - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326088190913
