Help. Looking to update the upload_max_filesize on my unraid server. Currently only have 2M.

Featured Replies

Hey

I'm new to the world of unraid and trying to launch a wordpress server on my unraid server. Unfortunately I'm having issues with file uploading because the host (Unraid server) is currently set to 2M. I've had a look around the terminal using "cd /etc" then nano php.ini and there's no options to update the upload_max_filesize. Can some help/suggest where within the terminal I might look to update this.

Using wordpress with Mariadb

Any help would be so appreciated.

Thanks, Adam

Unraid has no limit on the size of file uploads.  (I upload files of 50GB on a regular basis!)

What program is providing the error message that you showed?

Can you copy a file from the client to the Unraid server using the client's OS file manager?

If this limit is coming from WordPress then it will be a setting inside the container, not at the Unraid level.

Hey,

So the limit is actually on the unraid server. Within the PHP settings, currently it's set to 2M. The wordpress container is set to 10GB upload, but is being throttled by the host(Unraid server) Becuase it's PHP, is set to 2M.

The image below is the Upload_max_filesize for the unraid server, within the PHP settings within the tools tab.

And this image is the warning coming from Wordpress about the 2M limit from the host.

So I need to find a way to change the unraid php file, to update upload_max_filesize.

And just to confirm, no issues uploading to the array. I can also upload 50+GB at a time. The upload_max_filesize limit directly affects containers like wordpress, but not the array itself. From what I understand.

Thanks guys :)

It's not, no web traffic to your WP container will be going through unraid's webserver. It'll only be either the php server in the WP container or anything in the chain put in front of it (reverse proxy, tunnels,...).

All you need to do is create the php.ini file in /mnt/user/appdata/wordpress/ and then restart your wordpress container.
