November 8, 20241 yr I decided to try a recertified datacenter drive and just added it to my system. It is currently connected with a Molex-Sata adapter to avoid the 3v pin issue. I ran a extended SMART test and nothing popped out as a red flag so I moved run a couple rounds of preclear on the Main page under Unassigned Devices. When I checked in on it the next morning I noticed it wasn't as far along as I thought it should be and it was intermittently pausing. Looking at the preclear log it seems to pause ~every minute and then resume: Nov 08 10:28:44 preclear_disk_7LG8NJ5K_22170: Pause (smartctl run time: 25s) Nov 08 10:28:44 preclear_disk_7LG8NJ5K_22170: Paused Nov 08 10:29:05 preclear_disk_7LG8NJ5K_22170: Resumed Nov 08 10:29:42 preclear_disk_7LG8NJ5K_22170: Pause (smartctl run time: 26s) Nov 08 10:29:42 preclear_disk_7LG8NJ5K_22170: Paused Nov 08 10:30:04 preclear_disk_7LG8NJ5K_22170: Resumed Pattern repeating forever. It doesn't look like there are any ongoing smart tests running, and I have rebooted the server and restarted the preclear with the same outcome. Can anyone help with where else to look or what the issue might be? Is it likely the drive or a setting/user error? I haven't been able to find the same issue in the forums anywhere. Thanks in advance! tower-smart-20241108-0933.zip
