November 30, 20241 yr Community Expert go to main > flash download a usb backup this is a backup to at least keep some settings and your license key (you need a backup of the config folder at the least.) with a backup on another machine. power off unraid and pull the usb device. We will Be Reusing the same USB: Step 1 format the usb drive to clear all its data. *the guid of the drive doesn't change with flashing, this way your on a fresh new installation with a licensed device. Step 2 run the unraid windows creator tool and install the lattest stable 6.12.14 (I assume windows) *the tool can also setup a static IP.. https://unraid.net/download see getting started https://unraid.net/getting-started Step 3 Next in the backup config folder there are *.key files. copy these .key in to the fresh formatted 6.12.14 flash drive config folder ( this is the license tied to your current USB. ) *even with the cretor tool, runa as admin the root of the drive to make bootable sh - this fixes some syslinx options. Step 4 Safely eject the flash, plugin and power on the unraid system. Step 5 go to the dhcp ip of unriad via the web UI you will be asked to set a new root password and login to unraid. (if a new flash device you will get a warning wrong key and need to work with suport or use the tools to transfer your license form your old usb to the new usb Step 6 Reconnect and mimic the old array configuration see getting started https://unraid.net/getting-started *otheriwse if your ok with data loss i recommend live booting ubunut and running disk/gparted to wipe the disk *Easily add your disk / setup to the system. (optional go beta 7 ditch the array for zfs setup.)
November 30, 20241 yr Author i'm not trying to skip steps here, I've had some harware changes and storage changes. Just kind of want to start from square one without buying a new license. i don't want to keep any old data(I've come to terms with it being gone), I just want to be able to build new. I do have some fresh USB drives if need be as well.
November 30, 20241 yr Community Expert Solution it comes down if you want to reused the old usb or new usb the steps given above reusued the old usb to maintain the unraid license. same steps for a new usb with the * note that here is where you would do the licens swap to the new USB. I recommend replace USB after 3-5 years or other major hardware failure. Depends on teh USB drive and tis calculated Wearout. regardless its best to have a backup. to start fresh fresh i recomend using a live boot os of Ubunutu Desktop and using disk to clear the old data of each drive to preformat (I have had issues reusing disk in unraid) Use the above stpes to make a new or reuse the same USB and make a unraid usb sitck. copy license file (the starte / basek / etc .key file...) to the conf folder of the unriad usb that you will use and boot to that usb stick. pull from the backup if you want some plugins yo havd previous or downlaod new. mainly to be able to save and reusue docker configuration you had previoulsy... atm your should have atleast a unraid backup to reclaim your key file for easey license tranfer or ruesuse by refomating the curnt unraid licensed USB... then make a unraid usb by fresh download.. use the tools or manuly by fat32 format calling it UNRAID and run the make bootable script...

It seems like the template used in Unraid didn't update the new mount points taht were introduced in April 2024. I assume users have to re-download the newest version of the template? I'm not an Unraid user so I'm guessing here a bit.
January 20, 20251 yr Community Expert I'm not sure. As I don't see nextalert / pialert in the CA ATM Squid has a autorun to update certain repos to add to the CA. You can search the CA here: https://unraid.net/community/apps otherwsie if its justa pathing issue and temapte location needs edited, yes they would need to downlad the new template or edit the path themselves.

If @NetAlertX wants to create a new support thread here (instead of GitHub) with the relevant information, then either @FlippinTurt or myself could update the xml to point to the new thread. Alternatively @NetAlertX, (this is the ideal thing) if you want to create a new GH repository with the xml then I'd use yours and get rid of FlippinTurt's. (Please use a new GH repo, not an existing repo for NetAlertX)
