Error in deleting Windows VM Snapshot

Featured Replies

Hi, running 7.0.0 and using a WIndows VM. I created a snapshot before making some changes. After I made the change and make sure it worked well, I shutdown the VM and try to delete the snapshot. However I got error as attached.  Can anyone tells me what is going on? How to solve it?

Can't delete WIndows VM Snapshot.jpg

IIRC it means it's using that snapshot.

THanks for the reply but I still don't get it. How is the snapshot being used? From my experience with other VM environment such as VMware on the Windows, the snapshot is a static set of the original VM at a given point and can be deleted at any time.

Back to this situation, even I stop the original VM, I still get the same message.

Is there any way I can release the snapshot so I can delete it?

Post a screenshot showing the expanded storage info for that VM.

You have to commit the changes back into the base image. Snapshots are using overlay files.

So I click 'Block Commit' to apply the change to the base image? Try to confirm it before I do anything further.

Sorry I am not familiar with how to do this. Can you point out how do I get the info?

As Simon mentioned, you need to do a Block Commit, and it will merge the snapshot overlay files to the vdisk:

Thank you. This is the confirmation I try to get.
