February 3, 20251 yr I just upgraded to 7.0.0 from 6.9.2 🙈 I tried to be as thorough as possible with my preparations for the upgrade as I knew I was way behind and making a big leap. I updated all the plugins that I could update, uninstalled all the ones that were deemed incompatible or could not be updated enough and made sure to have a very recent backup of my flash drive. All in all the update seemed to go quite smoothly. I was impressed. Now that my system software is up-to-date, I figured I should start catching up on updating docker containers that I had previously locked to old versions for a variety of reasons. I discovered that none of the containers offer the 'edit' option on in the context menu. Based on discussion in another thread, I checked that the templates are properly saved on my flash drive. are all accessible as expected. Attaching diagnostics to see if anyone can provide assistance. rogue-diagnostics-20250203-1404.zip  -- EDIT-- I just noticed that apparently it only the containers marked "3rd party" which have no option to edit the config. In my setup that's approximately half my containers. I'll have to do some more research as to why that is. IIRC, the vast majority of my containers were installed via community applications albeit with previous customizations to the configs. Edited February 4, 20251 yr by mikedm139 Add more info.

As suggested here, I forced an update of the affected containers via the command line like this: /usr/bin/php -q /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/scripts/update_container $CONTAINER_NAME Â I tried to do a bulk update using the script in this comment, but it seemed to only work on the containers that were recognized as "native" and ignored all the containers marked "3rd-party". Rather than spend a bunch of time debugging the script, I just ran the one-liner a bunch of times (once for each affected container).
February 23, 20251 yr I had the same issue when upgrading from 6.9.2 to 7.0.0 today. I can confirm that *if* the "update" option is available in the container menu (example screenshot below), doing the update via the UI will result in a container that is no longer considered third party and is editable.  before update:  after update:  The difference in container state before update/after update where unraid no longer thinks it's 3rd party (aside from state like PIDs, container image hashes) as from comparing the output of "docker inspect <container_name>" before and after updating does seem mainly the addition of the labels: +         "net.unraid.docker.icon": "<URL of icon of app>", +         "net.unraid.docker.managed": "dockerman", +         "net.unraid.docker.webui": "http://[IP]:[PORT:<port of web UI configured in template>]",  When no update operation is available, invoking the script suggested "/usr/bin/php -q /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/scripts/update_container $CONTAINER_NAME" results in the restarted container no longer being considered 3rd party and being editable once again. The difference in docker state by comparing "docker inspect" before and after running the script is the same as above - so the existing template and (non-updated) image can be reused in restarting the container with the necessary labels expected by Unraid.    Â

Oddly, it had no effect on the following: binhex-radarr, binhex-jackett, immich, snipe-it and nextcloudTrying to find a way to re-associate these with their templates as I'd rather not destroy, rebuild and reconfigure.[UPDATE] Was able to fix the remaining containers in Unraid by going to 'Docker> Add Container' and then selecting from my existing templates. All settings were preserved. I then updated the container normally via the GUI. Btw this happened when upgrading from 6.8.3 to 7.2.3 Edited December 25, 2025Dec 25 by kobayashi_maru
