February 5, 20251 yr The mover button is not working on 7.0 when clicked, the gui refreshes but nothing happens. The gui also says that my cache pool has 57.3GB free available as well. I've never had the mover tuning plugin installed. I've also checked my flash drive .cfg files and they appear to be correctly capitalized. I found this comment to check the share settings and I had the same issue with the share settings being wrong, and set them back to Cache>Array. Not sure what my next steps are here. Attached are the diagnostics. The diagnostics from 0534 are from BEFORE I changed the cache>array setting. The 0551 is AFTER that. Even with that change, the mover is still not running. tower-diagnostics-20250205-0534.zip tower-diagnostics-20250205-0551.zip
February 5, 20251 yr Community Expert Solution Which share do you think is the problem? I can see only one potential candidate and that looks like there IS a capitalisation issue with the .cfg file. v---t shareUseCache="yes" # Share does not exist V---t shareUseCache="no" # Share exists on cache, disk7, disk8, disk9
February 5, 20251 yr Author Wow. Ok, that was it. Should have looked at it closer. I renamed the share with lowercase and now the mover is working again. Thank you!
March 4, 20251 yr Can you elaborate on what the issue was. I'm not following. I don't think Mover is working for me either.
March 4, 20251 yr Thanks so much! This thread helped me solved my problem with the mover not working as well. 1 of my shares is simply named "P" in uppercase but the share config file was named "p.cfg". I renamed this file on my flash to "P.cfg" and that solved the problem.
March 7, 20251 yr Another user chiming in with the same issue. Didn't notice for a while after my upgrade to 7, but it looks like the mover wasn't working for a week or two. I never had mover tuner installed. I only realized when my cache started filling. Went into my share settings, and many shares that were set to write to cache, then move to array had somehow lost their settings. Adjusted shares back to what I wanted, but the mover wasn't moving some files. Ran a diagnostic, and looked in the zip under shares>shareDisks.txt and looked at the share config. Looked like one of my shares name media, one as 'Media' (which didn't exist on the share), and one called 'media'. Fix for me was to rename my share 'media' to something else, then name it back to 'media'. Not sure what broke my share settings, and no idea where the upper case 'Media' came from. I couldn't see any issues through the UI. I had to start digging into the diagnostics before I realized I had two similar shares. This all worked before upgrading to 7... Working now after I renamed the share though.
