Did I just lose my drive?....

Featured Replies

So I was in the midst of upgrading my 1TB to a 6TB drive. While rebuilding the data, it threw some errors and became disabled. I still have the 1TB drive untouched. But its encrypted BTRFS....

Did I just lose my whole drive? Kinda freaking out.... I have double parity but....I'm not 100% sure if I'm covered?

You data should be OK, but keep the old drive intact for now.

You are likely to get more informed feedback if you attach your system's diagnostics zip file to your next post in this thread.
It is always a good idea to do this to allow us to see the current state of your system and so we can see logs.

Looks more like a power/connection issue, check/replace cables for disk1, and post new diags after array start, before starting to rebuild again.

Now I've noticed this drive has flagged some sectors in the SMART. I'm not going to chance this drive anymore. Gonna put in another and rebuild. I'll be buying a few new drives in the near future I see...

It does now, before it only shoed CRC errors, so possibly best to not use it.
