unraid server doesn't work anymore

Featured Replies

I have a pro licence and it worked for 3 years without problems.

I don't have the last version.

Yesterday it worked and I shutted down the server.

Today I switched on and the web gui doesn't work. The shared directory is empty. I can ping it and I can connect directly to the server with the keyboard.

Using diagnostics command I got this logs.

Please please please, can you help me? thanks

First try recreating the flash drive, backup the current one, then recreate it using the USB tool, confirm the flash drive boots with the stock install, and if yes, restore only the /config folder from the backup overwriting any existing files.

thanks, what is the file name used when I generate the backup from unraid? I'm trying to search an old backup but I don't remember the filename and I can't find it.

thanks!

IIRC, it's

<server name>-<release>-flash-backup-<date>-<time>.zip

But you can also try copying just the config folder from the old flash drive.

I found an old backup and replacing dirs that was missed the server started again!!

thanks!!

why did the pendrive miss the dirs?

  • Community Expert

Possibly the result of filesystem corruption.

  • Author

yes, I mean, is it so easy to corrupt the fs? what is the cause? pendrive that is dying?

  • Community Expert

Typically, bad flash drive or unclean shutdowns.

  • Author

The last time I turned it off before it stopped powering on, I used the appropriate shutdown button.
A few times in the past, due to power issues, it was shut down forcibly.
Could that be the problem? Or do you think I should replace the USB stick? thanks for your suggestions!

I would keep the flash for now, but if it happens again without an apparent reason, replace it.

thanks again! if the pendrive will die, can I use the backup using a new pendrive, right? and is it easy to move the licence in the new one?

Yes, and the Unraid GUI normally steps you through the process.
