Server keeps becoming unresponsive.

Over the past few days my server seems to randomly crash. I cannot log into the UI, and no reply if I ping the server. I also don't have any display out of the server and cannot SSH, requiring me to hard reset. After resetting, the server seems to operate just fine... until it randomly crashes again.

I have attached diagnostics- I am not sure if it contains logs from before the shutdown, I have syslog enabled and as a side note - I just looked up the syslog share and the file appears to be 34 gigs? Could this be a problem?

Hi

I had this exact problem and for me it was the usb flash drive. Flashed a new one and now it works. But maybe someone with knowledge should check the diagnostics.

Enable the syslog server and post that after a crash, but I see you are using a 14900K, that's one of the most affected models by the Intel 13/14 gen issue, so it could also be that, BIOS update can help if the CPU is not too far gone.

Syslog is showing 32 gigs. Is there a way to shrink it? or do I need to delete it and have it create a new one? Can I open it in kate or something and just grab the last few days?

EDIT: I just changed it to mirror to flash drive, it was chosen to send to flash on shutdown - but I think because of the crash it wasn't getting added. I will update when it crashes again.

The server ran steady for a couple of days, and I had a restart on the 25th . I'm attaching my syslog that covers 25-27th. Hopefully this helps narrow the issue down.

I assume this is the syslog after that crash? Anyway, lots of call traces logged, looks more like a hardware issue, if you have multiple sticks try using the server with just one, if the same try with a different one, that will basically rule out bad RAM, it that doesn't help the CPU would be my next suspect.

Hey guys, I am having the same issue. At first, I thought it was due to my LLMs. Now, every night is the same issue. It becomes irresponsible and only a hard reset can fix it.

What is the issue with the 14900K? I am using it. Is it not suitable for Unraid?

Google Intel 13/14 Gen issues, and if that is the problem, a BIOS update may help in some cases, if the CPU is not too far gone.

It is not an Unraid issue - it is an Intel issue with that processor tending to fail while in use. Google for details.
