Easily compress and extract a wide variety of archive formats directly from the Unraid WebUI. This plugin integrates 7-Zip with a simple user interface, allowing users to create or unpack archives all without leaving the browser.

Development has ended and no further updates will be released

Features:

  • Browse and select source files and destination folders via the WebUI

  • Extract archives with support for dozens of formats

  • Archive folders and files into .7z, .zip, .tar,.tar.gz, and tar.zst formats

  • Automatically sets correct file ownership and permissions after extraction

  • Clean and simple interface under the "Tools" tab

Perfect for managing archive files directly on your Unraid server.

  • Agreed, I'm also unsure why Dynamix File Manager doesn't integrate compression and decompression into the web UI.

i've changed it to 1gb in my new version i'm releasing here soon, my thought was the length of time handling large archives or large creations, maybe i change it to a higher limit like 50gb?

Thank you. Yeah, I'm dealing with files upwards of 200GB. So this is helpful. Thank you. Maybe put a warning for large files if you're worried about it and maybe leave an average example. Whatever feels right to you.

What would be ideal is an option in dynamax file manager to extract a file. I don't get why there isn't.

I noticed it doesnt appear to extract multi file archives, only the actual first file labeled rar, not r01,r02 , these files have a line threw them and cant be selected

Will this be implemented in a future update , please and thankyou

and you are selecting the base .rar file when trying right? not selecting any of the r01 or other ones?

and is the rar password protected?

correct, the base rar file is the only selectable file ,and not password protected, and unpacking it only unpacks the selected file and not the follow ons

if that helps

thanks, i got an idea of why, i'll try to put in a fix in the next few days and push the update. if you test after that please let me know as i don't have any of those kind of rar's to test with

thankyou for the good work, ive been waiting for a unraid interfaced packer, unpacker for along time, and ill happily test whatever you need to get this sorted, almost all rared archives i deal with are multi file archives so this would be brilliant

glad to hear it, thanks for reporting back

Thanks for this great plugin. Is there any chance you can add support for comic book archives? .cbz is a renamed .zip file, and .cbr is a renamed .rar file. Otherwise as far as I can tell these are meant to just be the standard formats.

do you mean creating or extracting? i can look into it, i've not heard of these extensions but sounds possible if just a different kind of zip and rar

Either, I guess. In explorer or finder I can extract a .cbz by renaming it into a .zip or a .cbr by renaming it into a .rar . So I guess from your perspective you would need to treat them in exactly the same way as you would the normal .zip or .rar. Most of the time they just contain a bunch of image files.

Sounds good, ill look into adding them

Not needing support, just wanted to say THANK YOU! For literally years people have been asking for a way to natively zip/extract and they've been met with a lot of rebuttal. Big props!

Thank you for a great app and recent updates. One feature I'd even donate for, is the ability to have a button up select to extract to same folder the archive is in. I'm sure a lot of people are extracting to exactly where the archives exist. I use mobile a lot and tapping to select folder is a struggle and for some reason selecting extract location is hit or miss and I end up giving up
