[Support] binhex - Syncthing
Same here, Since the update and database conversion, my idle cpu usage increased about 5% give or take and one of my syncing folders was not always scanning to 100% completion, and sometimes needed the syncthing docker to restart to finish that folders scanning. I thought it was unrelated to my idle high cpu usage. However I removed that folder and readded it to syncthing , let it scan back in and once complete the cpu usage was back to my nominal usage. This suggests to me a corrupt / damaged database when it converted one or two updates ago, and was somehow linked to my cpu usage. So I would suggest removing and readding syncing folders and see if that works for you too, I was lucky as i had a obvious faulty folder share to try first, my other 5 shared folders appeared to be fine. hope that helps

Zip Manager for unRAID
Thank you , multi file extraction with rars is now working
-
Zip Manager for unRAID
thankyou for the good work, ive been waiting for a unraid interfaced packer, unpacker for along time, and ill happily test whatever you need to get this sorted, almost all rared archives i deal with are multi file archives so this would be brilliant
-
Zip Manager for unRAID
correct, the base rar file is the only selectable file ,and not password protected, and unpacking it only unpacks the selected file and not the follow ons if that helps
-
Zip Manager for unRAID
I noticed it doesnt appear to extract multi file archives, only the actual first file labeled rar, not r01,r02 , these files have a line threw them and cant be selected Will this be implemented in a future update , please and thankyou

Intel 15th Gen 'Arrow Lake' Thoughts?
I run a seperate 10gbe card so didnt have that issue thankfully with a 245k , other than reconfiguring jellyfin, plex and handbrake due to the sudden appearance of the igpu going operational in 7.1 and becoming card0 / render128 and moving my arc a310 to card1 / render129. I would say a successful upgrade

Intel 15th Gen 'Arrow Lake' Thoughts?
I look forward to testing my 245k igpu against my arc a310 in handbrake when this rolls out, if the igpu holds it own then i can remove my a310 from the sytem to save power

yep i have the same motherboard, everytime i update bios I always forget to turn off fast boot , pain in the ass as i already have the keyboard, mouse and monitor disconnected and packed away by that point lol

Intel 15th Gen 'Arrow Lake' Thoughts?
I have the basically the same motherboard (asus prime z890-p wifi) and cpu, The mb nic will work if you install the unraid realtec driver plugin however i just put in a TP-Link TX401 10gbe to use instead which works great out of the box. The 245k IGPU will not work with the current kernal without the previously mentioned kernal upgrade however I just put in a very cheap intel arc a310 gpu (supports the same codecs as the igpu) which works for all my encode/decode needs. This mobo/cpu combo with 8 hard drives and 2 nvme's and 10gbe nic and arc a310 idles at 88 watts, 110-130 with hard drives spinning and near 200watts in handbrake doing full encodes. Hope that helps

Recommended Arc GPU for transcoding and AV1
I run a A310 Eco Sparkle with a max power consumption of 50w under load, it decodes/transcodes like a champ with av1 in plex and jellyfin, and encodes quickly in handbrake, its a single slot with no external power cables required , its a little noisy due to its tiny cooling fan but livable. I originally went in this direction after reading that the encode/decode processing power was the same across the arc series and not related to vram or gpu directly. I've seen 5 users streaming of my plex at once fully transcoding av1 to h264 and acc 160bit to acc 128bit and the card still has room to breath. I'm on unraid 7 rc1 currently.

The 8125 nic on the asus z890-p does not work in unraid 7 b4 , its seen and loading the 8125 chipset drivers made it work , I'm using a tx401 nic so had nothing to lose

look forward not back was my motto, all im currently losing is the igpu whilst gaining better thermals and power efficiency , and eventually the igpu will roll out down the track, the arc a310's are cheap and transcode well and in the scheme of things was the cheapest componont of this upgrade.

With drives spun down, but dgpu arc a310 eco, pcie 10gbe card and pcie hba card and 2 nvme drives still powered up , UPS reports 65w idle

Intel 15th Gen 'Arrow Lake' Thoughts?
I'm very new to unraid, but built a new system to eventually take over as a primary do all server at home replacing a synology nas. I'm using a asus z890-p wifi and a intel 245k with unraid 7 beta 4 I run several docker container including jellyfin, plex, handbrake, portainer, syncthing amoungst others plus a raid zfs array plus a normal unraid array with nvme cache and have found this hardware combination very stable. the 245k runs on a air cooler and idles at roughly 33-36c with room temps of roughly 23c, under load with handbrake it will sometimes peak to 62c. The Igpu is not available to use however even with correct bios settings and top drivers in unraid (maybe a motherboard thing or maybe the kernal doesnt fully support yet) but my arc a310 works well for all my transcoding needs. The system is rock solid so far and i find the 245k to be a more than suitable cpu for everything i have thrown it, I hve not missed hyperthreading to be honest.

Please recommend a drive setup for a new unraid 7 build
Thankyou for the suggestions , i roll-out today and will definitely implement some of these setups
