July 23, 2025Jul 23 Hello, my server is currently doing a parity check, but then suddenly it reboots. Can you please let me know what's the cause of the sudden reboot? Thank you. hhubs-diagnostics-20250723-1707.zip
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Community Expert This is almost always hardware related with the two most likely culprits being insufficient power or the CPU overheating. The syslog in the diagnostics is the RAM version that starts afresh every time the system is booted. You should enable the syslog server (probably with the option to Mirror to Flash set) to get a syslog that survives a reboot so we can see what leads up to the problem. The mirror to flash option is the easiest to set up (and if used the file is then automatically included in any diagnostics), but if you are worried about excessive wear on the flash drive you can put your server's address into the remote server field and log to a share instead.

I'll take a look at the syslog server so it will capture the logs before it reboots. Thank you. Edited July 23, 2025Jul 23 by HHUBS
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Community Expert In your case, I would being using the 'Mirror to flash drive' option. This is the ideal situation for this option. If I recall correctly, the syslog server starts recording with the next message after you activate it. Here is another set of instructions for setting it up: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/46802-faq-for-unraid-v6/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-781601Don't be surprised if the syslog does not provide any insight to the cause of your problem. If this is your case, run a memtst for a long time--- like 24 hours. Then try a Power Supply swap. CPU and MB would be next. This is assuming that you have already opened up your server case and cleaned out the dust and verified that the fans are all spinning.
