GUI unresponsive and slow

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I've noticed that my system feels a bit sluggish compared to others. For example, when following videos from @SpaceInvaderOne, his Unraid GUI seems noticeably more responsive — pages load quickly, whereas mine often takes a few seconds to switch screens.

This happens even when no Docker containers or VMs are running. Starting or stopping the array doesn't seem to make a difference. I experienced the same behavior with my previous Ryzen 9 5900X system and now again with my i5-12400 and 32 GB of RAM.

Unless others are doing some video-editing-wizardry, I suspect my system is underperforming — or maybe I’m just being impatient 😅

Any tips on how to investigate or optimize this would be greatly appreciated!

Any difference if you boot in safe mode?

Sorry for my late reply, I had to find a good time to reboot the server and start in safe mode.
While in safe mode, everything is by far more responsive. So maybe it has something to do with the plugins I installed?

If safe mode is better, yes, it suggests a plugin issue, you can try disabling one a few at a time and retest.

So after deleting one plugin after another until speed came up I now suspect the dynamix system stats being responsible for the lags. Since I deleted it, everything is blazing fast again :)

Thank you for your assistance 👍
