September 7, 2025Sep 7 Hi all,Recently i have been trying to upgrade my system to a more energy efficient MB board and setupPrevious setupMB - Supermicro X9DRL-3F/iF , Version 1.01BIOS dated: Thu 12 Jul 2018 12:00 AMCPU - E5 2650 v2PSU - 750WSSD 500gb x2HDD - 5x8TB, 2x12TB, 1 Parity 12TBTP Link 10Gbps NICNew Setup (all the same but the MB & CPU, 10Gbps NIC)MB - ASRock Z790 Steel Legend WiFi MotherboardCPU - 13400 i5Treadnet 10Gbps NICI checked that i enabled legacy boot, setup the boot order and virtualisationNot sure what else i need to check as this bios is different.When i try to boot in it just goes to blank screen and goes to the BIOSDo help and let me know if there is a setting that i need to change regarding this board?When i put the USB back there doesnt seem to be any issues.Thanks in advance!
September 7, 2025Sep 7 Community Expert Solution See if there's an EFI folder on the flash, if it's EFI-, rename it to EFI, then try booting UEFI.

September 8, 2025Sep 8 Community Expert Older installs came with UEFI boot disabled; that's no longer the case for 2 or 3 years, but renaming that folder enables it, and most modern boards can only boot UEFI.
