Anyone else having problems with pasting text using Firefox with this forum?

Featured Replies

I'm using Firefox 143.01 on Windows 11.

Firefox usually works, but recently it has periodically lost the ability to paste text from the clipboard into messages here.

Neither CTRL-V nor the right-click paste options work.

Are there any workarounds? Is there a process for filing bug reports on the forum itself?

That's super weird, I can paste without any issues.

A large number of users are probably using Chromium based browsers, but I think that the number of FF users is still significant.

When you cannot paste in the forums, can you try to paste the same thing somewhere else (without re-copy it) ? Chrome, notepad, other.

Try reloading the page with CTRL-F5 before. I also have problems here writing Articles and clicking on SAVE/Submit Reply.

Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Reloading clears my typed words, but the editor of the board has a hidden buffer somewhere.

Once you click into the (now empty) "reply" windows again, the buffer is shown again and all my changes are back!

And this time, "Save" works.

I never know if I need it or not... (lets try now...)

I've studied this issues more. I use many boards, but I only see this here on this one.

The problem seems to be limited to multi-line paste. If the pasted text has multiple lines, it is entirely ignored.

if I break it into single lines, and paste them one by one, it will work.

It doesn't seem to matter if the source file is DOS (CRLF) or UNIX (LF) line endings.

Any newline, and the paste is ignored.

Any ideas?
