Unraid 7.2.3 - unable to create additional pool

Featured Replies

Hello,

today I connected some more drives to my unraid, and wanted them to be assigned to a new pool.

this is the first time I try to create a second pool in unraid but I'm facing issues.

This is what I get when I try to create a new pool, I try now to create a pool names dospool with only 1 slot:

Jan 6 21:44:50 Home emhttpd: changeSlots: poolName dospool poolNameOrig (null) poolSlots 1

Jan 6 21:44:50 Home emhttpd: create_pool: dospool 1

Jan 6 21:44:50 Home emhttpd: error: create_pool, 288: Read-only file system (30): fopen_pool_write: dospool Read-only file system

Jan 6 21:44:50 Home kernel: md: unRAID driver removed

Jan 6 21:44:51 Home emhttpd: shcmd (1353): /sbin/modprobe md-mod super=/boot/config/super.dat

Jan 6 21:44:51 Home kernel: md: unRAID driver 2.9.35 installed

this part is repeated for all my drives:

Jan 6 21:44:51 Home kernel: mdcmd (1): import 0 sdx

Jan 6 21:44:51 Home kernel: md: import disk0: (sdx)

then some like:

Jan 6 21:44:51 Home kernel: mdcmd (23): import 21

and:

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: import 30 pool device: (sdq) serial

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: import 31 pool device: (sdp) serial

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: /sbin/blkid /dev/sda1 2>&1

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: /dev/sda1: LABEL_FATBOOT="UNRAID" LABEL="UNRAID" UUID="1111-2222" BLOCK_SIZE="512" TYPE="vfat" PARTUUID="something"

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: import 32 flash device: (sda)

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: error: put_disk_settings, 6139: Read-only file system (30): fopen: /boot/config/disk.cfg

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: update_pool_cfg: 30 cache 0

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home emhttpd: error: update_pool_cfg, 371: Read-only file system (30): fopen_pool_write: cache Read-only file system

Jan 6 21:44:52 Home sysDrivers: SysDrivers Build Starting

Jan 6 21:45:05 Home sysDrivers: SysDrivers Build Complete

and as far as I see folder permission is correct:

/boot/config#ls -ltr

...

-rw------- 1 root root 10218 Dec 30 10:44 disk.cfg

drwx------ 2 root root 32768 Dec 30 10:44 pools/

...

Could you please guide me?

Thanks

Looks like the flash drive is read-only, run chkdsk on it.

ok, I have removed the usb, checked it in a Windows machine and yes, it is readonly, so kind of broken... any way to repair it? or I can only replace it?

Can chkdsk not repair it?
