January 31Jan 31 Hi.Long time user, first time posting..Been using unraid for years now, on several different serveres, and its been pretty much fault free. Apart from the ocational self made problem ๐However, i have resently noticed that my server has randomly rebooted.I dont notice, because it seems to only happen at night, but id stil like to figgure out why.It started after i started messing whit home assistant in a docker. So i buildt a dedicats machine for Ha. And removed the container.(I do stil grunn matter hub for ha in a container)But a few days later, and it stil keeps happening.I rannlive memory tester for an entire Even ing, whit no result. The serveres own diagnostics are not picking upp Anny error in memory or in the #powersupply. (atleast that i can se)I download ed the syslog if anyone whit experience would have a look and se if they can se what i do not understand, that would be werry helpful.https://1drv.ms/u/c/690bce61e519bd4d/IQAetq8BALdZToeTfNFhTORDAbZQ758VEICBNwSJpBGLc7IServer is a HP proliant ml350p gen8 v1120gb ram. Xeon e5 2690 v1. Latest bios (2019) an msi gtx1050. And a 10gbe network card from aliexpress dont remember the name of it, but its werry comon.Anny help would be awesome.Thank you.Adriantower-syslog-20260131-1417 (1).zip Edited January 31Jan 31 by Adriank
January 31Jan 31 Community Expert The syslog in the diagnostics is the RAM version that starts afresh every time the system is booted. You could enable the syslog server (probably with the option to Mirror to Flash set) to get a syslog that survives a reboot so we can see what leads up to the problem. The mirror to flash option is the easiest to set up (and if used the file is then automatically included in any diagnostics), but if you are worried about excessive wear on the flash drive you can put your server's address into the remote server field and log to a share instead.
January 31Jan 31 Author Hi. Thank you for replying.. I thought that was what i had subitted, given it starts yesterday, and continue today. Whit the reeboot happening around 0240 ish to night.. If i am wrong, i wil have to try and figgurre out what im doing wrong ๐๐๐Adrian
January 31Jan 31 Author Ok. So i think i figgured it out. Wil se if i get a file next ri e it reboots.. Wich insedentaly, was about an hours and fifteen mintes ago ๐๐Thank you.
January 31Jan 31 Author Wait a minnute.. Looking at the ILO event log, i Just noticed entries for Brown out recovery.. Obviously that would reeboot the server... Looking at the log for the power meter the server is atatched to, i se no real drop in power... Sooo. Maby i have a failing powersupply after all. Or at last i need to check the cablinf to the server... Will uppdate
February 1Feb 1 Author Seems i might have answer my own question... None of the power cables were loose, but it was possible to engage them Just slightly more.... Ill leve the logger running a few days, Just to se if it was Just a coinsidence ๐
February 5Feb 5 Author Been up for over 5 days streight now. Seems it was Just a loose plug.. Oh well ๐
February 9Feb 9 Author Ahh. So it happend again. But this time syslog server was online. Where do i find this log, so i can add it?

February 9Feb 9 Community Expert It's missing the Unraid IP address; it must be set in "remote syslog server"
February 9Feb 9 Author ok, so adding the ip of my server should do it then ? Edited February 9Feb 9 by Adriank
February 9Feb 9 Community Expert To create a persistent, reliable copy of your Unraid syslog on your server:Set Local syslog server to Enabled.Configure the following options:Local syslog folder: Use a cache-only or preferred share (best for SSDs).Rotation settings: Adjust the file size and number limits. For best results and to ensure all syslog data (including boot events) is captured, set the Remote syslog server field to your server's own IP address (the "Loopback method"), or the syslog will not be saved to the set share. This ensures syslog events are both stored locally and persist across reboots, without writing to the flash drive.Click Apply.Logs will be saved to the share you specified.
February 12Feb 12 Author so,it happend again, 4 hours ago, i have a log now :Pthank you, in advance :)syslog-Tower.log Edited February 12Feb 12 by Adriank
February 13Feb 13 Community Expert Unfortunately, there's nothing relevant in the logs, and that's kind of expected since random reboots are almost always a hardware problem.
February 13Feb 13 Author Hi. Yea, i didnt see anything there either. Thank you fr looking thoug ๐ I guess it might Just be the power supply.. It is set ip for redundant powersupplys, but the original owner only had one fitted... Need tnfind a second one, and eventualy a propper UPS. Thank you.
