March 6Mar 6 Author It's been a couple of months, but I can't get it to shutdown - will a hard reboot be ok?Would the 2nd bit be causing slow parity and the hangs?
March 6Mar 6 Community Expert Unraid driver is crashing, that's why the parity check got stuck. This is almost always a hardware issue, memtest is a good place to start, and if the server doesn't reboot cleanly, you may need to force it.
March 8Mar 8 Author ok so memtest IS throwing up a fail, would you recommend a specific brand of non ecc ddr4 or can I just go with something like kingston or adata over say corsair?
March 9Mar 9 Community Expert Not really, as long as it's a known brand, then just run Memtest again for a few hours, but note that it's only definitive if it finds errors.

March 10Mar 10 Community Expert Yes, it was in those first diagnostics, and it looked like it was probably OK. I suspect a connection problem.
March 10Mar 10 Author That is what I thought as well because it occurred quite a while ago after swapping out a different failed drive, I just hadn't got to it yet.
