Access Files Remotely

Featured Replies

Im VERY new to the storage data back world... ive been doing a lot of reading pass few days. and seems like unRAID is the best fit for me because of its expandability and stableness..

Now i wanted to know if i would be able to access my UnRaid server remotely to lets say pull a mp3 file off the server??

or subsonic addon

You could do what I do...  Forward FTP to your unraid IP (with a different port like 3000).  Setup a Dyndns account with a host name like myhouse.dyndns.org:3000

then you could use a program like winSCP from any machine and connect to your server to get files....

This is not secure. The logins are not locked down. Use a VPN.

REALLY BAD IDEA TO RELY UPON A "DIFFERENT PORT" FOR SECURITY.

Use a VPN, or consider your server and LAN, and all the PCs on it compromised.
