June 5Jun 5 Unraid kicked one of my drives out the array last night. I ran smart tests and everything looks fine, I even got an alert that the array was OK but the disk is still disabled.I took the opportunity to upgrade and reboot, still the disk is disabled. My file system is BTRFS and I see a log entry in the system log referencing the disabled disk but it doesn't say anything else.Is someone able to assist?Diagnostics attached. Thanks backuptower-diagnostics-20260605-0810.zip
June 5Jun 5 Community Expert Unraid disables a disk when a write to it fails, and it then it stops using the physical disk and emulating it using the vombination of parity and the remaking data drives. More often than not there is no problem with the drive and the failed write is caused by an external factor such as cabling or power. You need to rebuild a disabled disk to clear the disabled state. If you think the drive is OK you can rebuild it to itself.
June 5Jun 5 Community Expert With all that said, some of your btrfs disks do have metadata corruption, disks 3, 5, 8, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, and 25.Most are relatively small values <50 except for disk 3 which is ~5000I would suggest running a memtest to rule out bad ram. Unfortunately since these are single disks and not a full on btrfs pool repairing this is not an option without restoring data from a good backup.I would suggest running a btrfs scrub on the affected disks as well for verification.
