officially, no. unRAID does not "officially support" sleep.

 

Unofficially, it depends on all your hardware and your BIOS, not just the disk controller.

(and I personally don't know about the MV8 as I don't own one)

 

List your entire config, and perhaps some users can respond with first hand knowledge.

I am really surprised more hardware vendors haven't made their products compatible with sleep functions. It seems with everything pushing to get a energy efficiency label, sleep would be a desirable function to be able to list.
