thefly
Hi. I've just put together the basics of my second build. I am a complete noob when it comes to configuration. For some reason, I can not get my bios to load on my Syncmaster screen. I have moved ram to different slots, removed all cards. I'm down to the bare minimum wired up. I have no board speaker so I can't report on any sounds. My configuration is below. I believe I've followed the parts recommendation completely. Any thoughts? Norco 4224 Supermicro MBD-X9SCM-F-O Intel Core i3 2100 Dual Core LGA1155 3.1GHZ Sandy Bridge Corsair TX750 V2 750W ATX Kingston ValueRAM 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1333 CL9 240-PIN SDRAM Quote Link to comment
mrow
Are you sure that PSU is compatible with the Supermicro board? Quote Link to comment
bcbgboy13
These Supermicro motherboards require ECC memory - if the ones you got are not ECC they will not work Quote Link to comment
thefly
The recommended PSU is the CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W. I would be shocked if the 750W isn't compatible. How can I verify this? Where do I check if my ram is ECC? Kingston ValueRAM 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1333 CL9 240-PIN SDRAM??? Quote Link to comment
mrow
What's the model number of the RAM? Link to where you bought it from? Quote Link to comment

mrow
That isn't ECC RAM. It says it on the website you ordered from. Quote Link to comment
thefly
I guess that's my problem. Thanks so much mrow! Quote Link to comment
thefly
Will any 240 pin DDR3 1333 ECC ram work? Quote Link to comment
mrow
It has to be 1.5V (as opposed to 1.35V) but otherwise yes, you should be OK. This here will work: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139262 I used a Newegg.ca link since I'm assuming you're Canadian since you ordered the other stuff from NCIX.
