How to make Unraid Array appear as single volume.

Featured Replies

I have three disks in my server and wants them to show up as a single large volume.

I looked around the forum and found a post about split levels. As a noob, I am not sure I understand.

Do you mean that your pc (not server) only see one volume?

Easy, enable smb share, make a user share and include all 3 disk in the share.

Your pc connected to your server will see: \towermyshare (or whatever you call it)

Yes that is what I meant. Just found the answer in the wiki. Thanks

Keep in mind that while it appears as one large volume, it is really a set of individual disks. A single file can only reside on one disk, no splitting across disks. This limits maximum file size to what fits on a single disk. (not like many people have programs that can access a single file larger than 2TB) The split level refers to your preference for keeping folders in the large volume set to a single disk, to minimize spinups or just plain organization reasons.
