December 21, 201213 yr I installed my apps(sickbeard, couchpotato, sabnzbd) and all of the directories on /mnt/cache/apps/"name of each program. They are all working well, everything is working well. At somepoint my app folder ended up as a share. Is this going to be an issue? I added a few attachments of my view. Thanks.
December 21, 201213 yr Its my understand that a share is created for any top level directory. If you want the files on your apps to stay put, go into your share settings and make it "Cache Only" .
December 21, 201213 yr Or you could add a . in the folder name of your apps =>/mnt/cache/.apps/ Mover ignores such folders and they do not become shares.

I have my cache only folder shared (but not published), and don't have an issue.

If the intention is to have an applications directory and not a share then turning the services off completes the process. Otherwise the cache drive application directory will act like a regular share apart from being cache-only.
December 22, 201213 yr Author I appreciate all of your help. TBH, I guess I'm not smart enough to turn off the SMB just for that share. If you want to add instructions on how to do it for a particular share, I will change it. For now I did what "batt01" said to do and I believe that will keep it from spreading across the other drives.
