December 21, 201213 yr Hey guys, I just moved into our new house, took my server with me, and now I cannot access the server. No changes were made, same router and everything. I'm stumped, I've searched but cannot figure this one out yet. Here's the details, With a monitor connected, it seems that my unraid starts up fine. I've even removed all of my .plg plugins for now to be sure what the problem is. I have a hardcoded IP 10.13.1.125 255.255.255.0 10.13.1.1 If I run ifconfig I get 10.13.1.125 255.255.255.0 10.13.1.255 This is where I'm thrown. The /boot/config/network.plg is setup as follows USE_DHCP=no IPADDR=10.13.1.125 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=10.13.1.1 If I set the USE_DHCP=yes, then unraid will not detect a local IP address, tries to pull up an external one. I've connected this through my router, and directly to only come up with the same results. I cannot ping or telent into the server. I'm not sure where to go from here. Any help?
December 21, 201213 yr What's the ip address of the machine you're trying to access the unRAID server with? From the unRAID console can you long google? Can you ping the server from your workstation and can the server ping your workstation?
December 22, 201213 yr Author My computer is 10.13.1.143 255'255'255'0 10'13'1'1 I can't ping Google from unraid. Or ping my computer or the server. Could my nic have died randomly, or am I missing something? Why does the ifconfig gateway come up different than what is hard coded?
December 22, 201213 yr Paste to contents of config/network.cfg and the exact output of ifconfig and "ethtool eth0". Please attach a syslog.
December 22, 201213 yr Author Got it working!! I'm not sure why this made a difference, but it did. I had a network hub plugged into the hard line from the provider, which then fed my router upstairs. With this setup, it didn't work. However, the line that fed the unraid was live, as I tested it with my laptop, no problem. So, I switched it back to like I had in my old house. Unraid connected directly to the router in the basement, and the hub upstairs. Upon switching this, my server was once again working. I was hoping to have the router upstairs on the main floor vs the basement, but this is the only way it seems to be working. So it will work out this way for now! However, can anyone explain to me why it would only work in this situation?

You cannot have a "hub" or switch" between your router and your network provider and expect to use more than one port from it.
