June 10, 201313 yr Hello y'all I have 2 x 2TB disks. one has taken the slot of an old 250GB. I succesfully replaced the old one with the new, no data loss or hassles in any kind /me was happy. The 1st 2TB was 99% full and the second one is 9% full. My shares use both the disk with High Water allocation method and split level set at 1. Datas are being imported in both disks. BUT, now come the BUT, since my 1st disk is full, unraid doesn't me to add any new files. Keeps saying me "Disk is full, no empty space left blablabla". I wonder why the files aren't placed in the second disk?
June 10, 201313 yr It is probably a function of the folder structure you have and the Split level settings that you have (you do not mention what you are using). Split level settings over-ride the allocation method so it may well be that the Split Level setting that is stopping files being put on the new disk. The solution might be to manually move some folders directly between the disk level users.
June 10, 201313 yr It's almost certainly your split level, as mentioned above. Just change the split level (or remove it altogether); then try writing again. It will almost certainly work ... and you'll know what the issue was. Note that since the 1st drive is essentially full, you won't need a split level setting for all subsequent writes to go to the new disk.
June 10, 201313 yr Author Oh ok, i think i understand what you mean. The folder's been created on the full disk (that takes some bytes of data only, so it fits), but when it comes to put the files in that folder, it says NOWAYYY. AMIRITE?
June 10, 201313 yr Author Well, setting split level at 2 solved it all, new folders/files all go to the second disk! Damn, split levels keep confusing. i thought i understood it but well, it looks like not that much Thank you all for guiding me on this
