June 29, 201313 yr I have a new HP Microserver N54L and I've added one Seagate Barracuda ST4000DM000 4TB drive to it plus unRAID 4.7 on a USB drive. Boots fine, and I'm able to see the drive and select it in the Device tab: But even after pressing 'refresh' in the Main tab, no drive appears. Am I doing something wrong here? Many thanks.

June 29, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the advice. I think I will install the current 5.0 release candidate and test my setup then re-install from scratch once the final release comes out. I want to make sure the drives are functional. Will upgrade from RC to final release be a relatively simple process? I also have another two unRAID servers which have been running v4.x for a couple of years. I might upgrade those too. Will existing license keys all be valid for v5.x too? Regards.
June 29, 201313 yr Will upgrade from RC to final release be a relatively simple process? Yes. Stop the array; copy two files to the flash drive; reboot the array I also have another two unRAID servers which have been running v4.x for a couple of years. I might upgrade those too. Wait (a few days) until v5.0 is released for these upgrades. There's a "bug" in RC15a that will be resolved very soon -- I expect Tom will either release an RC17 or v5.0 very soon that includes the fix for that => THEN you can upgrade your v4.7 systems. But RC15a is fine for setting up your new system with the larger drive. Will existing license keys all be valid for v5.x too? Yes, your current key files are valid for v5. Be SURE you have a COPY of those key files safely stored away on your PC in case you ever need them -- and note which key goes with which USB flash drive.
