July 14, 201312 yr Hi everyone, I'm new to unRaid, just got my tower up and running unRaid server Pro 4.7. Ok, now for the question... There is an error when i want to copy the key to the config folder in /boot directory. The only way i can copy it to the config directory is to plug the USB pendrive directly to my desktop PC. - Can't do it thru network, try it with a macbook pro, win XP laptop and win 7 desktop, all software is updated to latest version - I can only view the top level of /boot directory - No problem accessing the unRaid web management tool - Have not try accessing the array yet as i'm still doing a preclear on the hdd - I can telnet using Putty and can view the Readme.txt in the /boot directory (can't do it if i'm using windows explorer or mac finder) Here's my system configuration Intel Celeron 2.2Ghz 450 MSI g41m-p28 4GB of RAM WDC_WD20EFRX-68AX9N0 WDC_WD20EZRX-00DC0B0 linksys WRT610N router Anyone facing this problem before(see jpg attach.) Is this normal? If it is not, how to fix it... Your help will be great appreciated. UPDATES: Problem goes away after upgrading to v5.0rc16 syslog-2013-07-14.zip
July 14, 201312 yr It looks to me you need to add an additional user to unRAID. This username should be the same as the username on the Windows system you are attempting to connect from. I hope that helps.

I hope that helps. Even if set the share security to "simple", i still can't access the flash drive..... Theoretically everyone on the same network should be able to access the drive and flash right?
July 15, 201312 yr I'm on v5 and you may be on v4.7. On my system I don't see where I can set the level of security. Sorry.
July 15, 201312 yr The user "root" must be specified to allow access. Or you can change the flash share setting to allow public access. Or you can add a user and configure the flash share settings to allow the new user.
July 15, 201312 yr It is worth noting that if you move to the 5.x series of unRAID, then 'root' is no longer allowed as a user for accessing shares.
