When you set up shares to use the cache drive, UR handles all that. When I uploaded new show today to this folder on my array: \\TV\Outlander\Season 02\

 

it actually landed on the cache drive using the same folder structure as the destination. And UR maps it in such a way that the file shows up in your array as if it is already physically there. So Plex picks it up (its monitoring the TV share) and indexes it hours before it actually gets moved to the physical drive on the array. So I get the full upload speed of the SSD and the file for all intents is available as if it's on the share immediately.

PS. Once moved by the Mover, the folders on cache disappear.
