[SOLVED] Read only access and mover not working

Featured Replies

Hey guys.  I was running 5.0rc15a I believe and I had a drive fail.  I popped in a new drive and the array rebuilt.  Now when I try to write to certain shares I get read only access errors.  I upgraded to 5.0 at that time to see if I could resolve that issue.  the mover is also not working.  I ran the permission reset script and that still didn't work.  From what I can tell by the logs disk 20, which was the one replaced, is still not working correctly.  It is still green though on the main page.  Any suggestions on how I can resolve this?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

Read only access suggests file system corruption has occurred.    The solution is to put the array into Maintenance mode and run reiserfsck check against any of the problem drives.

I did the reiserfsck suggested above on disk 20 and I then used the --rebuild-tree command as the program suggested.  It found 7 corruptions and fixed them.  When I started the array again I had the same problem.  I am going to replace disk 20 again and see if I just had another faulty drive.  Any other suggestions if the new drive does the same thing?  I really would like to get this working.

Thanks,

Bill

I have actually fixed this issue.  Turns out the 2nd drive was bad.  Now I am having an issue with plex, but I will start a new post for that.

Thanks for all the help.
