Microcenter is definitely the best place to buy Intel processors in the US.  Also, they usually give you another $30-50 off with a motherboard purchase.

Yes, I ordered one of these at the same time and they knocked $30 off of the motherboard. Making it cheaper then anywhere I have found it.

Yes it is, and the nearest one to me is 550 miles away.  I have to hope I have business travel to someplace with a MicroCenter (has happened several times).

I just upgraded my photoshop PC with a 4770k that I got from MC a few weeks back when they were $199. Got the CPU + MB for $275 total.

Looks like they finally have the i7-4770.  I do not want the 'K' version as I will never overclock it and it doesn't have VT-d.  They must have only recently started stocking it.
