June 23, 201412 yr Im Just wondering if it is still worthwhile to support, as im not useing it myself anymore (im not even useing unraid). or if i should just drop it like its hot? Help me out here.
June 26, 201412 yr Author What you use if your not using Unraid ? I run a ubuntu server with xen(temporary),Docker, aufs and snapraid (and a bunch of scripts)
June 26, 201412 yr So I voted "No, focus on KVM" but now that I see you weren't even using unRAID anymore I'd say hand it off / open it for someone to take over. All your work is truly appreciated but it wouldn't be fair to ask you to support a community you aren't really invested in anymore. Especially given that I understand KVM will be that much more complicated.

Especially given that I understand KVM will be that much more complicated. KVM is dead simple, at least on other Linux distros. As there is a tool called "virt-manager" which easily allows you to create and modify (and passthrough), and even snapshot VMs. I have no idea how one would set virt-manager up on unraid's Slackware, as you would need X and a few other things. There is a web based tool called "webvirtmgr" which uses a web application to access libvirt, however it also isn't easy to install on slack. If you could install unRAID on another OS that would be amazing, and simplify a lot of things. However since that's not possible, I am also in the process of switching to a CentOS + snapraid + docker + KVM setup.
June 26, 201412 yr [sigh] Well the config files certainly are and that means a bit more work for BUUX to get all the details from the user to generate the config correctly. I'm not saying it is quantum physics, but it is a level of effort a person no longer using unRAID might not want to bother with.
