Cant write to sub folders in share

Featured Replies

Unraid 5.0.5 running plex, sabnzbd, and nzbdrone.  Im filling up my friends new unraid box but we keep getting into this problem.  I have his tvshare setup for level 2 (doesnt matter since he only has 1 disk and a parity) and highwater.  The problem is every time we copy a show, it copies the first season just fine, but then any other season (or even a test folder called "test") wont copy, it just stops dead, no error or anything.  In order to get around this we copy the episodes to the root of the show folder, and them move them into the season folder.  We just cant copy anything to any folders in the show folder.

HAve you tried running the new permissions utilitiy ? It would make sures access rights are correct.. Should not be needed with a new setup but you never know...

Also.. have you setup your shares as public or private ?

Public.  Havent tried the permissions thing, but i started unraid over a year ago with a 5.X rc.  Im just trying to nail down why i can write to //tvshares/tvshow/, but cant write to //tvshares/tvshow/season 02/

run new permissions.

then perform rieserfs checks on the /dev/mdX devices.

Not to dumb this down, but all i have to do is load up the array in maintenance mode and  telnet and go:

newperms /mnt/disk1

and

reiserfsck --check /dev/md1

Correct?

You cannot run newperms while the array is in Maintenance mode as at that point you will find that /mnt/disk? do not exist.  This is only possible with the array running as normal.  You can also run the new permissions utility via the GUI from the Utilities tab.

reiserfsck --check /dev/md1

This is correct for reiserfsck where the array DOES need to be in maintenance mode.
