August 8, 201411 yr Hi! It's summer and there has been a lot of thunderstorms in my area lately, so as an precaution i shutdown my server and unplugg it when s**t hits the fan. but after then storm passes and its safe to power up my server again, it sometimes does not boot from the usb flash drive. it just loops through bios. I then have to plugg in a keyboard and get into bios , and then manually shutdown the server to be safe. if i then plugg the flash drive in another usb-slot it works and boots fine. Whats causing this, is the flash drive bad? its an old datatravler 2.0 -niven
August 8, 201411 yr Author There should be a BIOS setting that allows booting without a keyboard. Hmm , well i unplug my keyboard before powering it on, it then boots fine. maybe it is just not recognizing the flash drive when the motherboard gets power again, i don't know... it's kinda weird. It works fine if i just shutdown the server and don't turn off the psu.

Since you have a problem after power has been removed from the motherboard, I would suggest that you replace the battery on the motherboard. It seems like it doesn't get booted..
