File system of boot usb/disk

The OS actually is in RAM. The boot drive has the archive of the RAMfs, along with some other things that are meant to be user editable, but the OS working files are in RAMfs.

 

Why the boot drive uses fat for the archive instead of something else may just be for maximum compatibility when creating it. I don't know.
