Unable to Write to a Share

Featured Replies

I have a problem that come up with writing to a share I have on my server.  On my Windows 7 machine I map a drive letter to the unRAID network share.  Then I try to copy files to that directory and I get the very helpful error message "access denied".  I can read the files just find and navigate the directory structure.  If I take the array off line and go the SMB screen and click enable and bring the array back online then it starts working again.  But then it stops working again shortly.  Looking at the log files for the unRAID server lists "Read-only file system" and "Tower kernel: REISERFS error (device md2): reiserfs-2025 reiserfs_cache_bitmap_metadata: bitmap block 20185088 is corrupted: first bit must be 1 (Errors)" but I don't know how to figure out what that actually means.

I'm not running a cache drive and have a 1.5 TB of 6 TB free.

I'm working my way through the other thread.  However how do I tell which disk is "device md2" as referenced in the error log?

Also I have one disk that has Current_Pending_Sector  RAW_Value of 8.  If I'm reading the documentation correctly that is bad.  However the Reallocated_Sector_Ct is still 0.

/dev/md2 is the disk that shows up as 'disk2' in the GUI.

A Pending sector is one that has been detected as having an issue on being read.    It may be cleared next time it is written, and if not is normally turned into a reallocated sector.  The problem with Pending sectors is that if a different disk fails and is replaced, then the sectors corresponding to the pending sector may not be rebuilt with the correct contents.
