You might want to read the reviews before buying these. The failure rate appears to be horrendous.

I already have two of these in my arrays for about three month, no problems so far, it's just a regular green Seagate (ST4000DM000 to be exact) in a case.

Besides, too late - I've already ordered two more  8)

I stand corrected. Doesn't much matter now: I tried to order one, and the price changed to $220 while I was in the process of buying it. Awesome work, folks. No thanks.

Jump from $100 to $220.... that's kinda steep. What, are they really thinking someone would buy it for that price?

The selloff's objective was to reduce inventory. Once the excess is gone, the specific drive will come at a premium.

Consider the problem of inventorying and marketing external drives of 1TB, 2TB, 3TB, 4TB, 5TB, 6TB, 8TB. Some are going the way of the Dodo. Likely from the middle out.

Ive talked to many sellers about this.  They hike the price up to ungodly levels so no one buys them till they get new inventory in.  Its easier than relisting.
