@StevenD - Just responded to your PM with more details trying to pull this all together.  I think I've summed up the issue in these two posts.

Intel Ethernet (Intel® 82579) NIC Driver Issue

Intel Pro/1000 EXPI9402PTBLK - works in UnRaid 5 but not UnRaid 6

http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=39293.0

The latest has side by side compare of dmesg, lsmod and ifconfig...

If I can compare anything else, please let me know...

Found out why the card was not seeing the network.  Steve pointed out that my network.cfg had invalid characters in the name (HunterNAS(6))...  can't use special characters.  Duh...

That solve the card working problem, but I'm still dealing with the original problem with the onboard Intel Ethernet - server panic.  So the new Pro/1000 card behaves the same way.

At this point, I'm not sure what's next.  I've striped the server down to 3 drives off the MOBO sata, disabled Intel mobo Nic and just the Pro/1000 - the system crashes (panic) as soon as i start accessing the system.  I have enough time to assign the precleared drives and start formatting, then within a few seconds the server panics...

Under UnRaid 5, the server runs, formats the drives and i can copy files.

Very puzzling that it would work under 5 but not 6...

Can you post your syslinux.cfg file contents here?  Also, do you have any of the virtualization technology enabled in your BIOS?
