smbd out of memory crash

I've been struggling with this reoccurring crash where smbd is out of memory. Happens about every 1-2 months or so. Not quite sure what to make of it or whether it has something to do with the amount of files on the array. Array becomes unresponsive when it happens and shares timeout.

 

Here are some screenshots.

 

 

Running ESXi 5.1.0 and currently have unraid 5.0.6 running in a VM with 4GB of ram with the "Reserve all guest memory" option ticked.

 

Would bumping up the memory solve this or just delay the inevitable.

 

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
