April 24, 201511 yr There must be a post about this already. Can someone point me in the right direction? I currently run the latest Unraid 5 build. I have 4 towers and I would like to try Unraid 6 on one of them with only a parity and 1 data drive. Thanks
April 24, 201511 yr Note that a 2-drive system (1 parity, 1 data) is a special case, and will have performance characteristics notably different than a system with 2 or more data drives => it will be a good bit faster, because UnRAID recognizes this special case and simply treats it as a RAID-1 array. If you're just trying the functionality, that's fine; but if you want to evaluate performance, you should use 2 data drives.
