Mailman74
I am looking for some help with disk overheating warnings that I am receiving. I have a Cooler Master Centurion 590 with 2 Norco ss500 hot swaps cages. I am looking for fan suggestions. I went and purchased 5 120mm fans today and just looking for tips on which way to install them and also which way the fans on the Norcos should be installed. Should the Norcos be pulling air in from the front or should they be blowing air onto the drives? On my case I can install 2 fans on top, 2 on the the side and one in the rear. Just looking for help on which fans should be intake and which should be exhausting air. Thanks for your help, because I am more of a casual techie and learn as I go. Link to comment
HellDiverUK
The best option I think is to change the warning temp to something that's realistic. LT set it at 45C, which for most drives is 15C below the actual limit. So, I would: 1. Check the drive's maximum operating temp 2. Go to UnRAID->Settings->DisplaySettings 3. Set the maximum operating temp as the "Critical disk temp" 4. Set the "Warning disk temp" a few degrees below that. Link to comment
