ninthwalker
16TB SSD BABY! http://www.pcworld.com/article/2971268/storage/samsung-takes-worlds-largest-storage-drive-crown-with-16tb-ssd.html#tk.rss_all With the way SSD's are rapidly growing in space, and the price coming down (1TB SSD's are currently in the low $300's) I can see a full SSD unRAID in the future. That'll be awesome. - Ninth Walker Link to comment
NAS
Makes me think that all SSD home arrays will be viable within a few years. At last Link to comment
HellDiverUK
I'd love to stuff a 8TB SSD in to a NUC, and have that do all my serving needs. Boot off a small M.2 SSD and have a 2.5" SSD with plenty of storage. HDDs will end up just for cold storage or archival. Actually, it'd be nice if Intel brought out a new "Home Server" product, based on a NUC motherboard, with 4 2.5" bays (similar format to the Synology DS414Slim or QNAP 451S). Stick on an OEM copy of Server 2012R2 Essentials, and I think they'd sell a good number. Not everyone is ready to go to cloud storage - we don't have fast enough internet. Link to comment
