Too many attached devices. Please consider upgrading your registration key.

I just built a NAS with 4x5TB drives and decided to give the unRAID trial a shot. I set up a 3 drive array on the main page, since that is the device limit on the trial license, however I cannot start the array because I have "Too many attached devices."

I thought the 3 device limit was a software limit. I certainly can't add a 4th disk to the array through the web interface, as the last unassigned drive is greyed out in the drop down as soon as 3 other disks are assigned to the array. Is the device limit also enforced on a hardware level? Do I actually have to open up my NAS and unplug a drive just to get the trial to work?

My plan was to test out unRAID using 3 of my 4 drives, and then add the 4th drive to the array once I purchased a key, thus trying out unRAID's vaunted ease of expandability as well. Is this something I can do, or do I have to go find a screwdrive and unplug some SATA cables if I want to try before I buy?
